Playing Dress Up!👗

All the time when I walk around the streets of Harajuku (a shopping district in Tokyo), seeing girls wearing dolled up victorian style outfits sparks my interest and often wonder about its origins.

At first I found it really weird, I mean at this age no one would walk around wearing colorful wigs, fluffy long dresses with corsets, high knee socks and big bows; in fact the fashion sense of youth now a days is short shorts or skirts, the shorter the better✌ but the Lolita’s (that’s what they are called) have a world of their own!

As I researched about them and months before Halloween was coming, I decided that I wanted to wear a Lolita costume for Halloween (who knew I had it in me😆), however buying the clothes would be too expensive for just a night only.

Luckily after all that “googling”, I stumbled upon a website called “Maison De Julietta” ,who caters a fun photo shoot wearing Lolita garments.

You can find this store at Laforet Mall in Harajuku. Here is the website address (www.maison-de-julietta.net) for more details and in case you want to try out something like this when you’re in Japan.

The store does make up service as well, so you don't have to worry about getting all dolled up by yourself.

This is something me and my sister never dreamed of doing in fact she got dragged a long in doing this because I gave her the “only in Japan” speech.😜

Over all we had so much fun experiencing being Lolita’s! The staff was really accommodating, friendly and could speak English. Service is definitely a 10/10!😊
